The 2012 MLB All-Star game will be played July 10th 2012 in Kauffman Stadium home of the Kansas City Royals, But it will be the Texas Rangers that will feel at home. Not only will Rangers skipper Ron Washington be managing the American league All-Stars he will bring 7 other Rangers with him to the game. Three starters will be outfielder Josh Hamilton, third baseman Adrain Beltre & Catcher Mike Napoli. Other Texas Rangers will include Pitcher Joe Nathan, Pitcher Matt Harrison and Shortstop Elvis Andrus & Ian Kinsler. Another Possible Texas Rangers pitcher could also be added as Yu Darvish is among five candidates for the “Final Vote”.
The Texas Rangers currently have the best record in MLB at 50-30 also Texas is the defending two time American league Champions – but have come up short in winning the last two World Series championships to the SF Giants and in one of the best World Series matchups in a long-time (IMO) last year to the St. Louis Cardinals. Sometimes it seems that the Managers from each of the previous years World Series pads the roster with his players even though there may be other players on different teams that may deserve the spot more, but I hope I’m not alone in not questioning Ron Washington’s or the MLB fans for the very deserving Rangers that made the team. More on this years All-Star game later.
Who will win this years game? The American league will be the favorites to do so as they are more familiar with the stadium and to be honest has a lot to play for as the winner has home field advantage in this years world series. How about the total? Over or Under? We will discuss all of this in a later report.
